About Robin

An integrative approach to osteopathy in Toronto’s west end

Robin Magder is a dedicated manual osteopathic practitioner who graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, a four-year graduate-level professional program accredited by Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN).

They also have a certificate of completion in an Emotional Anatomy course and Somatic Experiencing Beginner I.

With over five years of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist before becoming a manual osteopathic practitioner, Robin is passionate about harnessing the body’s innate wisdom to heal and self-regulate.

Their approach blends technical expertise with deep respect for the unique journeys and needs of their patients.

Robin practices in three locations throughout Toronto’s west end, including:

Robin’s early love of sports sparked a lifelong curiosity about how bodies move, adapt, and heal. Building on this foundation, they pursued studies in psychology, sexuality, gender, and social work, which deepened their understanding of how social and environmental factors influence physical health.

This unique blend of knowledge informs Robin’s holistic, compassionate approach to care, where the mind-body connection is central to every treatment.

Robin is committed to creating a practice that welcomes everyone. Their space is intentionally body-positive, queer- and trans-welcoming, and inclusive of people from all walks of life. Robin’s approach recognizes the ways systemic barriers, discrimination, and societal norms can impact health and well-being. They believe that all bodies are inherently good and capable of profound resilience and transformation.

Recognizing that financial barriers can sometimes prevent people from seeking or accessing treatment, Robin also offers a sliding scale for those who need it at their Village Healing Centre location in Roncesvalles.

Robin’s treatment is trauma-aware and attuned to your emotional and physical responses. Emotional reactions may arise during treatment and welcome them as a natural part of the healing process. Trauma lives in the body, and emotions have physical manifestations. Emotional responses and releases are encouraged within your window of tolerance. The goal is to hold your healing journey in a caring, supportive container. You have full agency to stop or change the treatment at any time.

They are dedicated to creating a space where addressing needs around systemic oppression, such as fatphobia, racism, ableism, transphobia, homophobia, and sexism, can be discussed openly and respectfully, ensuring your boundaries are always honoured.

“I felt really comfortable in Robin’s space. I really appreciate the way they communicate. They really listened to what I know about my body and they let me know really clearly what they were doing. I’ve been to one other osteopath before but I felt way more like Robin was supporting me in helping my body. It can be a struggle to feel comfortable with health practitioners as a trans person but I felt totally at ease with Robin. I’m looking forward to my next treatment.”
